When Scott was in 8th grade, he gave his father cash from cutting grass over the summer along with money from his grade school graduation to invest. His father purchased a small cap stock mutual fund and Scott was hooked on investing ever since. Scott graduated from Illinois Wesleyan University and came back to the St. Louis metro area to begin a career in financial services soon after.
Scott has held positions within trading, portfolio management and direct financial planning with clients since graduating. He has worked for a national private bank personally overseeing $2 billion in assets and has worked one-on-one with individual clients for smaller independent advisory firms. He has earned both the Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA) and Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designations.
Scott and Mark have known each other for over a decade and after a few stints in Austin, TX, Scott moved back to the St. Louis region to join Mark at his practice. Scott believes in 3 vital attributes that financial planners should follow:
- Applying an academic backed approach to investing client portfolios
- Providing holistic planning services that account for all aspects of a client’s financial world
- Doing the above at a transparent and easy to understand fee for the client
